CLERK: Michele (Dickinson) Manke a 1990 graduate of East Jackson High, Grandparents are Woody & Sue Dickinson and Carmel Mays. Parents are Roger Dickinson, a 1971 graduate of MC High and Dorothy Dickinson-Pickell, a 1972 graduate of EJ High. Both parents are life long residents of the Township. Happily married since 1997 and have two children that attend Michigan Center Schools. I started working at the Township in June 1997 as the Deputy Clerk and moved into the building department in July 2001 before deciding to run for the Clerks position after Joan Spicer elected to run for Trustee and enjoy retirement in November 2004. Prior to working at the Township I worked for Comerica Bank for 7 years, in Michigan Center for the last 2 of those years. My hobbies include scrapbooking, camping, and having family barbeques all summer long. I took office on November 22, 2004 and have found the job to be a challenging and fulfilling experience. Some major accomplishments to date are this web site, a cost recovery ordinance for rescue runs for non-residents, billing & collection on the cost recovery, the renewal of the Parks & Rec. committee and many new items including a new launch and dock coming spring of 2011 and new playground equipment in our parks due to fund raisers and grant money,staff the DDA and assist with development needs along the I94 Business Loop and assisted in the Round Lake, Michigan Center Lake and Gillett's Lake Aquatic Weed Control Special Assessment District to ensure the health of our beautiful lakes.
